Many thanks to the incredible effort and time of the facilities and shop groups here at Clarkson to get the DTI 3.0 tower up for a line and bolt check. We are moving closer to the final install!
The DTI 3.0 install at Clarkson University will be on the roof of the Technology Advancement Center. A specially designed pad and guy wire arrangement was constructed to secure the turbine. The turbine will have a clear access to prevailing winds from the WSW and as both a research and teaching tool, the Clarkson DTI 3.0 wind turbine will serve a variety of needs for years to come.
Progress continues to be made by VISTEX on the blade molding tool. Pictured is part of the compression mold used for the composite blade fabrication. Looking forward to the first blade set using this process!
We had a great site visit to Asgaard Farm and Dairy, yesterday, to look at potential locations for their DTI turbine. David and Rhonda are terrific hosts and we look forward to working with them in the future. If you happen to be anywhere near Au Sable Forks, be sure to stop in and buy some of their wonderful goat cheese. It is delicious!
