Many thanks to the lads in the tunnel for their help and innovativeness during the testing the past week plus! We are more than pleased by the results which will help us move forward to commercialization!
Getting ready to bring the rig up to the University of Waterloo Wind Turbine Test Facility next week! Very exciting, to say the least. I will try to post some of our results here as we progress. The plan is a series of tests first with the open rotor , then the ducted configuration optimizing the pitch angles and rotor location in the duct. And we now have all 3 aluminum blades thanks to Package One Industries!
DTI displayed the turbine prototype in Rochester on October 5, 2016, as part of the NEXUS-NY Demo Days wrap-up. The outdoor market was a terrific venue for the event and representatives from NYSERDA were on hand. Our manufacturing partner, P1 Industries arrived in time with our new blade and were very warmly received! Next stop: The Wind Tunnel at Waterloo!
Parts are coming in and we are putting together the headstock for the turbine. We painted the duct today and it is looking sharp. Hope to get a test fit on the tower stub tomorrow! Maybe we’ll post a pic!
We decided to launch a website to keep folks updated about the progress on our turbine. This is the first ‘post’ as it were so I will try to keep up to date on the latest!
